- Face value in Hebrew and English, Israel State Emblem, "Israel" in English, Hebrew and Arabic, border inscription "Independence Day 2001" in Hebrew and English and the mint year.
- Reverse
- A pomegranate symbolizes a person filled with knowledge, who is described as "as full as a pomegranate". Within the pomegranate, Stars of David symbolize the values of Judaism and history of the Jewish People; letters A and B and digits1, 2 and 3 represent the basics of every course of study; symbols of agriculture, computers, archeology, electronic communications and science represent the areas of higher education in which Israel excels, around the left-hand border, inscription "EDUCATION IN ISRAEL" in Hebrew and English.
