At its center is a large golden flame, enhanced by two golden arches. The trees on either side are adorned with glittering golden star garlands in memory of the Unknown Soldier. Golden strokes symbolize the life that animates the most beautiful avenue in the world. Gilding Paris as "the city of light".

A modern conceptualization of Paris, the arrondissements are like an archipelago of small islands, grouped together in a pyramid shape and separated by the Seine, where the Saint-Louis and Cités islands are easily identifiable.
