Obverse

In the center, against the smooth background of an outline of a landscape scene, is Ukraine's small coat of arms (to the left); in the middle is a tree of life – a traditional symbol found in the ornaments on Ukrainian weaved carpets, towels, pysankas (painted eggs), and so on; to the right is the coin’s face value: 5; against the backdrop of stylized carpets are the following legends: УКРАЇНА (Ukraine) (to the left) and ГРИВЕНЬ (hryvnias) (to the right); beneath is the coin issue year – 2021. In the center, to the right of the tree of life, is the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works.
