Design of a scarab taken from a pectoral, which is a large piece of jewellery worn as a pendant across the breast of chest. The symbols on the pectoral spell out Tutankhamun's throne name Nebkheperure, whichtranslates as'Lord of the Forms of Re'. The symbols consist of a basket neb meaning 'lord' (the segment shape at the bottom), a scarab kheperu meaning 'being' or 'form' (in the middle) and the sun re representing the god Re (at the top). A red Carnelian stone has been inset at the place of the sun.
