- Above is Ukraine’s small coat of arms, under which is the following legend: УКРАЇНА/НАЦІОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК (Ukraine/National Bank); in the center is the coin’s face value 1; to the left of the face value are the coin’s metal, fine weight and metal fineness Au 999.9/15.55; to the right of the face value are the legend ГOЛОВА (governor) and the signature of Volodymyr Stelmakh, who held the position of NBU governor in 2010; the semicircular legend ГРИВНЯ (hryvnia) is below the face value; beneath, against the backdrop of a stylized ornament in the shape of a horse shoe, is the coin issue year 2010.
