Obverse

In the foreground is the original face of Rosalinda Pesce, the woman who inspired the engraver Oscar Roty. This is the first time she appears on a piece. On the second, we can see the original Sower as on the 1 franc 1898. There are 20 stars, each representing a year. The sun refers to the old currency, the Franc, its predecessor. The flag is symbolized by the ground in heraldic form, the blue by the horizontal lines, the white by the uniform and flat band and the red by the vertical lines.
