The coin portrays Mary Gillick’s portrait of the young Queen which appeared on Australian circulating coinage between 1953 and 1964. The portrait overlays a backdrop of stylised wattle, Australia’s national floral emblem, and is surrounded by the inscription . Also included is the design in The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
