Description
1 Gold Pieter from Duchy of Brabant. Issued from 1375 to 1380. Struck in Gold. Measures 27 mm and weighs 4.05 g.
- Obverse
- Front-facing half length bust of Saint Peter, nimbate, holding book in right hand and key in left. Quartered coat of arms of Bohemia-Brabant-Limburg-Luxembourg below. Polylobe of nine arcs around, with trefoils in outer angles and fleurs-de-lis in inner angles, (Wenceslaus and Jeanne, by the grace of God, dukes of Brabant.)
- Reverse
- Cross fleury with rosette in the centre, quadrifoils at split points, and fleurs de lis at ends. (Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ commands.)
