Description

1 Gold Pieter from Duchy of Brabant. Issued from 1375 to 1380. Struck in Gold. Measures 27 mm and weighs 4.05 g.

Obverse
Front-facing half length bust of Saint Peter, nimbate, holding book in right hand and key in left. Quartered coat of arms of Bohemia-Brabant-Limburg-Luxembourg below. Polylobe of nine arcs around, with trefoils in outer angles and fleurs-de-lis in inner angles, (Wenceslaus and Jeanne, by the grace of God, dukes of Brabant.)
Reverse
Cross fleury with rosette in the centre, quadrifoils at split points, and fleurs de lis at ends. (Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ commands.)
