- Obverse
- The count standing and facing forward under a gothic arch, wearing a crown of roses and a cuirasse with the arms of Bavaria, and holding an upright sword over his right shoulder, and a long fleur-de-lis tipped scepter in his left hand. Five lions in the fieled on each side of the arch (William, by God's grace Count of Hainaut)
- Reverse
- Floriate triple cross with alternating lions and crowns in the angles inside a quadrilobe with points between the lobes. Eight trefoils in the exterior angles. (Christ conquers, Christ reigns, Christ commands)
