Obverse
Full-length figure of King Gustavus Adolphus lying on the ground facing up, wearing suit of armour, ermine robe, and crown, his head and feet on pillows. Clouds and two winged angels above, carrying the soul of the king to heavens. Radiant Tetragrammaton above. Battle scene in the background. Wreath around. (Gustavus Adolphus the Great, by the grace of God, venerable king of Sweden, the Goths, and the Wends. Even they flee death. Be a good and faithful servant.)
Reverse
King Gustavus Adolphus, facing left, wearing armor and holding Bible in left hand and sword in right hand, riding in chariot drawn by three winged horses over Hydra of Discord and pope wearing papal tiara and two-barred cross below. Personifications of religion holding cross and hat and justice holding scales above, placing laurel wreath on king's head. Wreath around. (Glorious commander, pious prince, unconquered hero, incomparable victor, happy triumphator, and liberator of Germany, year 1634. In life as in death I triumph.)
