- Obverse
- Crowned shield with nine-fold arms of Lorraine inside an epicycloid. Legend starts with small eagle. (René, duke of the Lotharingiens.)
- Reverse
- Cross of Lorraine with elongated stem surrounded by epicycloid, dividing legend and flanked by ornate letters R E. Legend begins with small eagle. (Precious cross that saves.)
