2 Euros from Italy. Issued in 2022. Struck in Bimetallic: nickel brass clad nickel centre in copper-nickel ring. Measures 25.75 mm and weighs 8.5 g.

Obverse

Two officers of the “Polizia di Stato” (Italian National Police Force), a man and a woman, stand out in the foreground against a police car. Above, the arch-shaped inscription “POLIZIA DI STATO”; on the right “RI”, acronym of the Italian Republic; below, on the left, in the centre and on the right, respectively, “R”, identifying the Mint of Rome, “AM”, initials of the designer Annalisa Masini and the dates “1852 2022”, the year of the foundation of the “Polizia di Stato” and that of the coin’s issue; around, the twelve stars of the European Union.

Reverse

A geographical map of Western Europe spans the outer ring and inner core on the right side of the coin. The inscription 2 EURO is superimposed over the map of Europe, with the numeral “2” located in an open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean. 12 stars are located on the right side of the outer ring, with six stars atop the map of Europe and six stars below it; six vertical stripes cut across the inner core of the coin, visually connecting the upper and lower star segments.
