- Obverse
- Portraits of the two Italian judges Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino inspired by a picture of Tony Gentile. Above, the arch-shaped inscription “FALCONE - BORSELLINO”; below, the dates “1992 2022”, the year of the deaths of both anti-Mafia judges and that of the coin’s issue, respectively, with the acronym of the Italian Republic “RI” in between; on the right, "R", identifying the Mint of Rome; on the left, “VdS”, initials of the designer Valerio de Seta; around, the twelve stars of the European Union. (Italian Republic)

The inscription 2 EURO is superimposed over the map of Europe, with the numeral “2” located in an open field representing the eastern Atlantic Ocean. 12 stars are located on the right side of the outer ring, with six stars atop the map of Europe and six stars below it; six vertical stripes cut across the inner core of the coin, visually connecting the upper and lower star segments.
