- Above, Romania's Coat of Arms, the face value "500 LEI" and the circular inscription "ROMANIA"; in the middle, between two ornaments, the three line motto "SFANTA EPISCOPIE A RAMNICULUI CTITORITA SUB RADU CEL MARE (1495-1508)"; on the left and right sides of this motto, the symbols of Christianity (fish and Jesus Christ's monogram) and the mitre of Bishopric of Râmnic; below, the year of issue "2003".

- Bishopric of Râmnic Coat of Arms; the inscription "500 ANI DE LA INFIINTAREA EPISCOPIEI RAMNICULUI" and the years "1503-2003" are engraved circularly, between two cross ornaments.
