Description
½ Dollar from Fiji. Issued in 2022. Struck in Titanium (.990). Measures 40 mm and weighs 31.5 g.
- Obverse
- Coat of arms of Fiji featuring a quartered shield with sugar cane, a coconut palm, a dove with an olive branch and a banana bushel. The quartered shield is topped by a passant lion holding a cocoa pod in its paws. Above the shield is a canoe with an outrigger attachment, while the sides are supported by Fijian figures. (Fear God and honor the Queen)
- Reverse
- The reverse of the coin features a beautiful image of the Hubble Space Telescope, one of the largest and more versatile telescopes that was launched into Earth orbit in 1990 and is still in operation. The telescope is presented floating in the universe. The design also incorporates the famous NASA logo on the left and the inscription: “HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE” – the name of the coin.
