Obverse
A branch of oak on the right, a branch of laurel on the left, and an ear of wheat in the center surrounded by the name of the country "RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE", in front of a hexagon representing France in the background. The face value above. The engraving punches are visible on both sides of the laurel and oak branches. A beaded edge around the coin brings a touch of elegance to the coin and reminds us of old French coin designs.
Reverse
This side features a portrait of Napoleon with his laurel wreath. Several strong symbols are present: the Legion of Honor instituted by Napoleon, the Eagle, the bees and the Austerlitz sun. 2S" is inscribed inside, commemorating the date of victory at the Battle of Austerlitz, December 2, 1805, the "S" representing the month of December.
