1 Crown from Gibraltar. Issued in 2022. Struck in Gold plated copper-nickel. Measures 38.6 mm and weighs 28.28 g.
- Obverse
- The obverse depicts the 2022 Raphael Maklouf Queen Elizabeth II effigy with Latin inscription: ELIZABETH I D.G.REGINA. GIBRALTAR, which translates to 'Elizabeth Il by the Grace of God, Queen of Gibraltar, and includes the denominational value and the year in which the coin is struck. - Reverse
- The first photograph on the coin shows Princess Elizabeth (later Queen Elizabeth I) with her mother, Queen Elizabeth (The Queen Mother), her father King George VI and her younger sister, Princess Margaret at Windsor Castle in 1940 during the Second World War. In contrast, the photograph at the bottom of the coin shows Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth I with future kings Prince Charles and Prince William on the balcony of Buckingham Palace to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the accession of the Queen - London, 5 June 2012. The photographs are divided by a sceptre entwined with sprigs of oak inspired by the House of Windsor Crest, with St Edward's crown, the official coronation crown featured at both ends and the shield of the Royal Coat of Arms in the centre.
