Description
Solidus - Theudebert I from Frankish Kingdom. Issued from 540 to 548. Struck in Gold. Measures 21 mm and weighs 4.41 g.
- Obverse
- Bust facing, spear on the right shoulder. The bust is helmeted, the helmet decorated with three rows of pearls, surmounted by a crest. On the left shoulder, a shield on which is represented a horse. (Our Lord Theudebert, victorious.)
- Reverse
- Victory standing facing, holding a long cross and a cruciger globe. Letters B and O on either side of Victory. Star in the field to the right. CONOB in the epigraph. (Victory of the August. Bonn.)
