Obverse

On the obverse of the commemorative gold coin "Hum" in the central part is the head of the autochthonous Istrian cattle - Boškarin. Above the cattle's head is the coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia, below which is the nominal value symbol "1" and the name of the monetary unit "KUNA", which are all positioned to the left, for the purpose of a slight departure from mirror symmetry. Below the cattle's head is the inscription "HUM" in Glagolitic script. To the left and right of the cattle's head and the inscription "HUM" in Glagolitic is the inscription "REPUBLIKA CROATIA".
