- This coin is designed by Canadian artist Aries Cheungand features a beautiful stylized design of a phoenix and circular “sun” that bears the Chinese symbolsfor “peace.” Three graceful tail feathers flow out from behind the bird, each one designed with depth and beauty. Above the phoenix is a stylized sky filled with swirling peony-like clouds. The scalloped outer band of the reverse image is engraved with the word “CANADA,” the Chinese characters for “CANADA,” the date “2013” and the face value of “150 DOLLARS.”
