Description
200 Dollars - Elizabeth II from Canada. Issued in 2014. Struck in Gold (.99999). Measures 30 mm and weighs 33.17 g.
- Obverse
- Head on the right of Queen Elizabeth II, 77 years old, without crown, wearing a necklace and earrings.
- Reverse
- The motif, by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc, features a close-up of the stealthy hunter that is the Canada lynx (Lynx canadensis). Its thick, shaggy winter coat is rendered with remarkable precision, from the black tip of its goatee to the fine whiskers on either side of its face. Despite the predator's elusive nature, his fierce gaze is arrested as he opens his mouth to express his displeasure and reveal sharp fangs. The lynx's ears and bristling tufts suggest that it has already detected the intruder that draws its attention in the direction of the viewer.
- Edge
- Serrated
