Obverse
Depiction of a Roman aqueduct on which maritime pines stand out, characteristic of the Lazio landscape. Below marine subjects taken from the mosaics of the Baths of Nettuno in Ostia Antica. In the centre, the writing “SAPORI D'ITALIA”, which graphically divides the field; at the top, on the left, the value “5 EURO”; at the bottom “R”, identifier of the Mint of Rome, and “2023, year of issue of the coin.
Reverse
Composition of typical elements of the Lazio food and wine tradition: Roman artichoke, plate of amatriciana, bunch of Malvasia Puntinata grapes and Frascati wine in the typical glass carafe, inserted inside an octagon, which recalls the symbol of the Lazio Region, the whose external frame, an echinus decorated with ovules and darts, recalls the decorations of the coffered ceilings of the domes present in the ancient Roman Basilicas.
